This post explains the difficult and trying process of getting an apartment in Bologna.

Alex and Mary Paulison, along with their 5 month old son and furry dog are relocating 5000 miles from Tulsa, Oklahoma to the college town of Bologna, Italy in Northern Italy.
Bologna, Italy is famous for its university. The University of Bologna is the oldest university in the Western world where over 100,000 students are enrolled. The University is the original 'Alma Mater'. Bologna is also known for its great cuisine. Tortellini, bolognese sauce and lasagna all hail from this historic city.

Nestled in the Po Valley, Bologna dates back to 1000 BC and is called home by over 380,000 residents.

Centrally located in Northern Italy, the Paulison family is eager to find a home here and start their jobs working with college students.

Most homes in the historical city center are located in buildings as flats. There are few single family homes in the center. Many apartments are unfurnished, even lacking a kitchen. The Paulisons are looking forward to getting into a place that's at least partially furnished, dog friendly, and welcoming to guests that may make the long trek overseas to visit.
Their wish list includes:
3 bedrooms
2 bathrooms
Terrace
Air Conditioning
Elevator
Dishwasher
Partially Furnished at least
Central Location to the University
Great Street
Low Condo Fees
Dog Friendly
House 1 is located on Via Volto Santo. This furnished flat has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and is incredibly located within minutes of the central Piazza Maggiore. The apartment boasts great potential for decoration, but lacks a terrace. Its situated on a quiet street, has large bedrooms and a great layout!

House 2 will be a furnished 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment on Saffi. Though unfurnished upon the showing, it will be furnished soon with all new items! The Paulisons enjoy its close proximity to their friends in town. The flat is newly painted with a simply layout, but has very large bedrooms. The home has a terrace, bathtub, and is on an upper floor of a nice building with an elevator.

House 3 is the couples final option, located within minutes of the historical university. With 2 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom, the flat is dog friendly with a terrace, but is at the top of an historical building without an elevator. The upper room has a great city view and an air conditioner, but the rest of the apartment is not ventilated or newly furnished. The flat has wood floors throughout.
